Portgarth tug build

An account of my build of the
Mobile Marine Models PORTGARTH tug

The Portgarth

PORTGARTH, like the Dutch built Damen ASD3110 prototype was launched in 1996 and has proven to be a thoughly good all-weather, all-round performer.

This rugged yet very attractive model has become a firm favourite with 'TUGGERS' of all ages, who require that 'little-bit-extra' from their boat.

At the start of the New Millennium, Wijsmuller Marine took over the company of Cory Towage and the PORTGARTH, on-station at Avonmouth, Bristol adopted the blue livery.

Sold 01-10-2002 brought in with Svitzer Marine (UK) Ltd.- Bristol. In 2007 ownership to Svitzer Marine Ltd. – Bristol. In April 2019 ownership to Svitzer Georgia LLC – Poti.

Portgarth: Pusher/Tug. Length 30.0m, Beam 10m, Speed 13.48 knots, Deadweight 575 tonnes, Gross Tonnage 262 tonnes, BHP 4000, Bollard Pull 50 tonne, IMO: 9067685.
